Gain Changes on the compressor caused by the drums can pull down the level of the vocals and bass and cause overall volume changes in the program.
压缩器的音量增益变化，是由鼓声引起的，能降低人声和BASS的音量，以及导致全面（整个歌曲）音量的改变。
Slower Release settings will usually keep the gain changes more inaudioble but will also lower the perceived volume.
比较慢速的Relase设置能保持压缩器的增益变化，但是我们却比较难以听到这个变化，但页同样降低了了打击乐器的音量。
A slow attack setting will tend to ignore drums and other fast signals but will still react to the vocals and bass .
一个慢速的Attack 的设置会导致鼓声或者其他快速的信号被忽略，但是对人声和Bass依然有压缩作用。
A slow attack setting might also allow a transient to distort the next picec of equipment in the chain . if the source is too percussive or has loud drums in the mix , try adjusting the Attack and Release controls.
在一连串的傚果器中，一个慢速的attack设置可能导致瞬时现象（PEAK)破坏下一个设备（PEAK的出现对任何设备都具有一定的破坏，熟悉压缩器的朋友一明白这个问题）。如果声源中有比较厉害敲击乐器，例如MIX中的鼓声，尝试重新调整Attack 和 Release的控制。
Sometimes fast attack and medium Release helps tame drmus .
某些时候，快速的Attack和中等的Release 能帮助鼓声变得柔顺平滑，但是如果不恰当的时候使用，会让鼓声变得黯淡无光。

The more bouncy the meter seems , the more likely that the compression will be audible .
如果加入太多的压缩处理，那么你是有可能从音频上听到压缩的动作，这样是不好的（The Mixing Engineer's hanginedbook中已经反复提及），在电平表里面如果看见上下浮动越是活跃就越好。
Generally speaking , the trick with compression in mastering is to use a slow Release and less ( usually way less) than 5dB of compression .
一般来说，母带处理中的压缩窍门是使用慢速的Releas 以及 少与（经常情况下都是用少量的） 5dB的压缩控制（这里你可以通过Gain Reduction来了解得知，但如果你是用软件，建议在慢速Release的情况下，只要设置到3dB左右就OK了，因为慢速Relase会导致Gain Reduction变得相对迟钝，她显示5dB的时候，可能已经超过这个限度了。
Quiet passages that are too loud and noisy are usually a giveaway that you are serioulsy overcompressiong .
如果你的音频进入压缩器之前是没有多余的噪音或者响度适中的，而在经过压缩器后，声音响度变大或者出现嘈杂的声音，那么你的压缩设置就可能太大了。
以上建议，都是建立在Mastering上的压缩设置，但也有一些是可以应用于Mixing的。
