on uad-1:
moog multimode filter: 86% dsp
moog multimode filter se: 14% dsp (gain stage instead of drive stage)
this thing sounds totally wicked O_o even shining as a chopper filter in rect lfo 16th sync mode.
unfortunately, the rate knob goes up to 25 only...
i'd say the volcano and the moog are on par, in very different ways. the moog sounds more ... in your face. from subtle to brutal, it's all there. perfect for high quality filterings on ... everything. the volcano has different multiple characters and sounds awesome, in its uncomparable way.
我覺得它跟 FABFILTER 的 VOLCANO (FABFILTER 的東西是不錯, 包括 DELAY 的 TIMELESS, COMPRESSOR) 不相佰仲, 聲音風格很不一樣, MOOG 的聲音無論是細緻或粗糙, 也像在你面前, 而 VOLCANO 有多重特性, 聲音也厲害....
the se version seems to be suited for the more subtle filterings, the non-se kicks it just a lot more. it blows your brains out.
and in ua fashion the plugin is perfectly mono compatible. no audible changes at all.
i've slapped together a cheap demo track and attached some ez audio demos - all using the non-se version - for all of you who don't yet want to start the plugin demo:

I too was surprised to see it running on UAD-1 only. Hopefully it, and the Roland 201, will be ported to UAD-2 shortly because they are both very power hungry.
The Moog Filter sounds amazing. It's just like real hardware. In instant classic IMO.
