Jun 13, 2005 - This little box gives you incredible warmth and a very authentic tube sound. Even when I play through a no-name transistor amp, I can still get that Fenderesque sparkle. The gain knob is incredible too. If your pickups are hot, you can get this wierd, fizzy distortion, and if you back it down a bit, it's perfect for the SRV sound. Excellent value.

May 18, 2005 - I mic my 12 string guitar with an AKG C414 B-ULS, and until I got this preamp, the recorded guitar just sounded like a bunch of low thuds, even with the 414 on it. But when I got this preamp, I was BLOWN AWAY by the incredible warmth and detail it added to my sound. The 414 sounds like a tube mic when I run it through this preamp. A tremendous value (by the way, I was considering investing in a tube mic before, but why waste all that money on a tube mic when you can get this little guy for sixty bucks?!). GET IT!!!
