It handles faders, pans and mutes on the first 16 channels - you should use the Yamaha channels 1-16 (layer 1), and NOT the remote layer.
A few quirks - 0dB on the Yamaha faders doesn't quite line up with 0dB on the SS faders, and likewise with centred pans.
But I find it very useful, nevertheless, for physical control. Whilst I use the mouse for almost everything - including fine tuning levels - I still find that there are some occasions when the tactile feel of a fader, with a bit of mechanical resistance, is vastly preferable to using a mouse.
