最近 EgoSys 公司（Waveterminal的制造厂商）总是做不好 WaMiBox （一个笔记本专业声卡）的 XP 驱动，厂家声明说：

WaMiBox使用WDM (Windows Driver Model)，据微软公司的规定，它应该同样在Win98SE/ME/2000/XP环境下工作，但是不幸WaMiBox只能工作于Win98SE/ME，而不能在Win2K/XP工作。
EGO SYS还没有发现为什么WDM不能在Win2000/XP工作，因为没有微软公司的合作，不能进入Win2000/XP内核，目前EGO SYS暂时不能解决。
感谢一些热心用户发现微软放出一个修补PCMCIA卡记忆I/O的补丁，但它对WaMiBox无效。
目前问题的症状是Win2000/XP不能产生一个中断请求（IRQ）给分配到WaMiBox的中断，所以没有声音。
一年前我们就要求微软解决这一问题，然而微软至今没有拿出解决方案。
结论：EGO SYS其他的驱动在Win2000/XP环境都工作得很好，而它们是由同一个模块转变而成的，这就证明WaMiBox的驱动本身没有bug，所以升级驱动程序也不能解决WaMiBox的问题。
我们将继续要求微软协同解决这一问题，如果广大WaMiBox用户也对微软提出要求，也许会加速问题的解决。（中音公司翻译）

WaMiBox driver is a WDM (Windows Driver Model). According to the specification of Microsoft Inc., WDM should work on Win98SE/ME/2000/XP. But unfortunately, WaMiBox is not working on Win2000/XP. It only works on Win98SE/ME.
EGO SYS have not found yet why the WDM is not working on Win2000/XP. It is out of the hands because without Microsoft's cooperation, EGO SYS cannot get into the kernel of Win2000/XP.
Thanks to Oliver, also a WaMiBox User, EGO SYS found Microsoft Inc released so called "Hot Fix" for PCMCIA.
It is a hot fix for PCMCIA memory IO for certain PCMCIA.

(However, this hot fix has no effect on WaMiBox)
In this case, the problem is: Win2000/XP does not generate an IRQ for the interrupt that is assigned for WaMiBox, therefore no sound can pass through.
We have requested MS to resolve this problem since one year ago. However, MS seems to have no solution so far.
*CONCLUSION: EGO SYS' other drivers are working well on Win2000/XP and the same driver model was adapted for the WaMiBox. This can be the proof that the WaMiBox driver itself has no bugs. Therefore, upgrading the driver cannot solve this WaMiBox problem.
We are continuously requesting/looking for a solution or hot fix from Microsoft. It might speed things up along if WaMiBox users would also send requests to Microsoft to solve this problem sooner.
