Automated Audio Reversal FX
*****************************
Whats new
------------
December 21st, 2005;
V1.0 release
-First public release! Therefore, everything is new :)
Installation
------------
Read the accompanying "Audiosyn EULA" file. If you agree to the terms and conditions for using this software, proceed as follows:
Please uninstall previous versions of the Plugin before installing the new version. If you correctly installed Plugin via installer, you can uninstall using the "Add/Remove Programs" in the Windows control panel. If you manually moved the VST into your PlugIns directory, you must delete a file & folder manually; Antonymic.dll & Antonymic Folder
*Double-Click Setup.exe to start the installation process. You must read & agree to the EULA to proceed with installation.
*Once you have selected "I agree with the above terms and conditions" select next. You will be prompted to select your VST PlugIns directory. This should be the main folder which houses all your other VST PlugIns (usually c:\Program Files\Steinberg\VST PlugIns).
*Once you have installed the Plugin, restart any VST host programs you may have open & the Antonymic VST should show up with your other VST's. If you don't see the Plugin listed, you may need to set your host to re-scan for VST PlugIns.
What is it?
-----------
Audiosyn Antonymic is quite simply a VST that automates the process of recording audio phrases & reversing them on-the-fly. So why would one create such a VST; Vocal dyslexia? Boredom? Curiosity? Inspired by Twin Peaks? Maybe "all of the above"!
Whatever the reason(s) behind the reasoning(s), it's a whole lot of fun & I think people will get a kick out of it. You'll definitely get a lot of interesting looks using this at a live event..........
Antonymic Features
------------------
-An audio gating  system for automating recording & reverse-playback of audio phrases.
-Pitch control for controlling speed/pitch of reverse-audio playback.
-Small FX section consisting of a high-pass filter & a comb-filter (with positive & negative feedback).
Description of Controls (top->bottom & left->right)
------------
While most of the controls in the Antonymic VST are self explanatory, some switches are unlabeled due to space.
Gain:: This controls the gain (volume) of the audio entering the VST. In order to avoid clipping audio recording & for accurate detection from the audio gate, adjust "Gain" so that audio input peaks at around 0db. Going above +3db will distort audio recording.
Unlabeled red button:: If the VST ever "locks up" this reset button may fix the problem. If not, you will have to manually switch the VST off & back on via your VST Host.
BPF:: Part of the audio gating system. This is essentially the cutoff control of a band pass filter. Use this to isolate which band of the audio input will be used for record & playback detection. This has no effect on the audio being recorded, only the detection system! Setting this to midway or higher is good to help accidental detection from microphone vibration or bumping.
Sens:: Part of the audio gating system. This controls the threshold the audio input must reach before it activates the recording function. It's best to set this to a level "right before" background noise sets off the audio gating system. (See Hold).
Hold:: Part of the audio gating system. This determines how long after the audio has dropped below the threshold set by "Sens." that the audio recording will stop and reverse-audio is automatically played back. If you have a lot of pauses between words in a phrase, set this higher. If your phrases are more dense (words closer together) and you want quicker reverse-audio playback after the audio drops below threshold, set to a lower setting.
Pitch:: Controls the speed/pitch of the reverse-audio being played back. Center equals "original pitch". If you want to reset pitch to center, simply click on the word "Pitch" above slider control.
HPF:: This is essentially the cutoff control of a high-pass filter. Set to midway or higher to remove bass-rumble from audio & make speech more clean and intelligible.
Delay:: This control the delay time off the comb-filter (delay). Longer delay times produce reverb/echo type FX while shorter delay times are useful for phase-type FX. Slider at minimum should be used as a comb-filter bypass.
Regen:: Regen controls the feedback of the comb-filter effect. The "Regen" slider is capable of both positive & negative feedback amounts. Center equals zero-feedback. To reset slider control to center (no feedback), simply click on the word "Regen" above the slider.
