[/url]Related to the previous section, there is a new per-plug-in property in the plug-in manager available called Serialize Host Access. If checked, VST dispatcher calls to the plug-in are serialized as far as possible. The default behavior is OFF, which allows asynchronous calls to the plug-in and prevents the audio engine from getting blocked.
The only reason to check this flag would be for a plug-in that has thread safety problems leading to crashes. The default behavior is OFF, allowing asynchronous calls to the plug-in. This allows the UI thread to interact independently with the plug-in GUI without impacting the audio engine.
