Pro Tools throws a -9131 error when recording on a GUID partitioned drive. This occurs when recording to partition 4 and higher on Intel based Mac's.
This is a known issue and was found in Pro Tools LE, HD, M-Powered & Pro Tools Academic 7.3 & 7.4 (Mac OS X) on Intel based Mac's.
If you have a drive partitioned in at least four volumes using GUID Partition Table. (Disk Utility >Partition > Options > GUID Partition Table).
Then attempt to record to partition 4 or higher by way or Disk Allocating or via a saved session on that partition. It will result in '-9131 error, Pro Tools cannot record'
A workaround is to partition audio drives using Apple Partition Map instead of GUID in Disk Utility.

Happens when you try to record on the system disk / system partition or on a partition of the first (Master) HD. This error also occurred when an old SCSI driver (1999) has been installed by Windows 98 itself, and no update was run. - Copy the session to a different (non-system) drive - Do not use a partition of the primary master HD (e.g. master HD has been partitioned into C:\ and D:\, where C:\ is the system partition and D:\ is an extended partition) - Update your SCSI driver Pentium III/600, 256 MB RAM, Matrox G400 DH, Seagate Barracuda 18 MB, Windows 98 SE German |
