today I installed the latest version for the Konnekt 8. Immediately after I did that, the Konnekt 8 lost its FireWire connection and by no means can I get it back:

My setup is almost the same as yours, except that I have a konnekt 24D.
Initially, I installed TCNear 2.2.2 right over the old driver, with konnekt and all other gear running, and nothing worked either(no "blue light" or sound).
So I did the following:

1) Power off the system and disconnect every other firewire peripheral, leaving only konnekt plugged in, but turned OFF;
2) Turn on the system(not the konnekt), run TCNear uninstall script(located at home folder) and reboot;
3) Run TCNear 2.2.2 installer and reboot again, turning konnekt ON after the "apple" shows up(konnekt "blue light" should lit up right before the login window appears);
1）关闭系统电源并断开所有其他FireWire周边，只留下konnekt接好，但关机状态;
2）打开系统（不是konnekt）运行TCNear卸载脚本（在家文件夹中），重新启动;
3）运行安装程序，并重新启动TCNear2.2.2再次，把konnekt后的“苹果“对显示出来（konnekt“蓝灯”亮了时机，才应该出现登录窗口）;
4) Open TCNear CP and in the about tab choose to upgrade firmware(choose the file that appears and click ok);
5) After firmware upgrade, the "blue light" should be blinking like crazy. Just turn your konnekt OFF and the turn it back ON again and everything should work fine now.
6) Plug back your gear(if it's the case) one by one and make sure you have no conflicts.
After I did that, everything worked flawlessly. Since then I've used it with Logic 9 and iTunes over Snow leopard for weeks, with no glitches.

hey, thanks for your help! I was a little frustrated as after I had worked myself through your laundry list the first time and the Konnekt would still not do anything. So I uninstalled the driver again, rebooted, installed the driver again and rebooted again. All with Konnekt disconnected. Then I started the system fully up and only then connected the Konnekt and turned it on -> blue light! So finally I updated the firmware! Done, up and running!
Thanks for pointing me to the solution! I owe you a beer should you happen to stay in the southern part of Germany anytime in the future!! :-)

我根据这个帖子，一开是试了几次还是不成功，后来看到这个帖子的时间是2009年，想到有可能是他说的2.2.2版本的驱动太老，只是针对当时的电脑，所以就试着下了一个官网目前最新的驱动tc_audio_interface_software_250_6906_353.dmg，今年发布的应该适用于今年的新款笔记本，然后，一次成功，经过各种极端测试，目前没发现任何问题，没掉过线也没爆过阴，完全正常。。。
我也得请这大哥喝一杯。。。
