about 陳輝陽... and...
His melody are great, although some of his melodies are getting worse now, but that's a problem for sure if he needs to tons of songs in a yr. Commercial is not bad. As long as the song has great melody and the lyrics are meaningful AND combine fluently with the melody. I hear too much so called "non-commercial" garbage in HK during the past 6 to 7 yrs.... come on man.... non-commercial doesn't means no melody,........... special or alternatives can also be so so so poor .... like the ones in Hong Kong, created only for fashion, cause everyone are talking about alternatives or commercial, but not with heart......... even a commercial melody, with heart is absolutely good music......... some of Chan Fai Yeung's melody are real great....... you can tell whether the composer composes the song with heart or with only prize or fashion in his mind..... but it's true that this guy helps Hong Kong's music a lot....... Honestly I stopped listening to Hong Kong songs since 1996, cause they are too too too too too TOO garbage......... but I started to listen again around 2000.... and most of the songs I listened to are composed by Chan Fai Yeung as I found out later on.......
However, this is only my point of view.
But if people don't like commercial, then it may be good to ask Chan Fai Yeung to teach the non commercial composer how to compose a song with melody and heart....... cause they focus too much on commercial or not, alternative or not.... they should focus back to good melody or not........ However, I understand lot of people think RAP can also be great songs..... but I just couldn't accept RAP as good melody....... computer can compose RAP, no need for composer... only arrangement is needed........... Just to me, melody is the most important, and then lyrics.....
