The Studio1 plugin has been designed to faithfully reproduce the sound of Markbass amplification in any hard disc recording application.
When you record bass through any soundcard interface (even those of top quality), you always lose natural harmonics and you can never reproduce the rich tone of a bass played live through an amp. In studios, recording with an amp is rarely easy: you need a dedicated room with a minimum of reflective surfaces, the microphones need to be carefully positioned, and there are often phase and delay issues between the direct and microphone signals.
Managing and solving these problems is especially difficult and impractical in home studios.
However, the studio 1 plugin (used either in real time or applied to an already recorded bass track) provides a convenient, versatile solution.
Throughout its development, careful attention was paid to mic position relative to the speakers, and microphone were evaluated both individually and in combination, through a lot of intensaive playing, listening and comparing.
We chose tp take a non-linear approach to the recording, and didn't use an anechoic room because that can lead to cold,
sterile sounds. No effort was spared to accurate capture the fidelity and true sound of Markbass amps and cabinets.
