硬件補償方法有點不同, saw先送出(aux send) 訊號到硬件, 經過處理後回來(returns)再與晚點起步的 MT 同步, 這樣會做成延遲, 但對效能消耗很輕微。 延遲大的插件基本上無法與硬件一起用, 因為對付插件的延遲補償方法是先預載數據去補償, 而硬件是沒有的, 亦不可能, 所以不要用延遲大的插件興硬件一起用, 其實, 選擇用硬件的大前提, 就是不用插件。
It gets pretty complex... in fact the hardware aux send issue is a special feature of the engine that pre-sends out the aux send so it can place the hardware returns in sync with the delayed MT tracks... adding in VST latency in that loop gets pretty crazy.
Sorry to say... when using any hardware loop, any latent plug cannot work correctly because it needs to preload data ahead to compensate for the latency... and there is no preload data in a hardware live input... the helpfile talks about that issue.
Do not use latent plugins in a hardware loop... the idea of using the hardware anyway is to not use plugins.
Make up your mind.
