Major Mac OS X Updates!
RME have updated their whole support for Apples latest operating system, Mac OS X. In a first step all drivers have been updated and improved with lots of useful functions. The impressive list of fixes and new functionality is available - as always - on dedicated Tech Info pages:

Major improvements include sleep/resume mode, MIDI timing, compatibility to the latest Aluminum PowerBooks, PCI bus performance, 192 kHz operation for the HDSP 9632, Disconnect mode for Digiface/Multiface/RPM and lots more. The drivers are available on the drivers download page:

These drivers have been tested and verified on 10.2.8 up to the latest 10.3.3.
In a next step RME have updated all the information regarding driver updates, compatibility and frequently asked questions (FAQ), see

The Mac OS X FAQ contains useful tips and background information on drivers and issues with driver installation, and will be updated frequently:

Finally, having a wonderful Hammerfall DSP series driver with all the latest bells and whistles, RME ported this driver to the famous Hammerfall DSP MADI - and already released it! RME would like to note that this is not a typical version 1 driver. It is - thanks to the similarities with the other HDSP series cards - a robust, stable, and 'it does it all right now' driver, with complete support for all its MADI features, a dedicated settings dialog, and a fully functional TotalMix mixer with all the functions known from other HDSP series cards!

Please note that the HDSP MADI driver is not limited. It can be used even in a G4/400. But of course you won't have any fun with it then... We recommend to use at least a G5 to be able to use the 64 inputs and outputs of the card.
