What is the Roland XV-5080 ?  Back
It is the new flagship Roland synthesizer in a 2 unit-19 inch rackform. It introduces several new key features so it would meet with today's demands of the professional music maker. Key features are: Matrix control, 4 velocity switches, stereo waveform per tone. (Previous models only had a mono waveform per tone). STANDARD scsi interface and digital outputs (consumer and professional). The XV-5080 is also 32 parts multitimbral + 128 voices of polyphonic power that allows it to tolerate huge orchestral arrangements and creative divert musical pieces. You can send MIDI data to 2 inputs. The XV-5080 will have 2 other "siblings" with the same new sound architecture effects but they aim at different consumers. The XV-88 is the version with 88 weighted keys. This XV is mainly aimed towards live performance on stage or the pianist who got in love with synth architecture. The little sound module brother of the XV-5080 is the XV-3080 and is aimed at the regular music playing consumer.

什么是XV-5080？
罗兰旗舰级机架式合成器（2UNIT-19INCH）。它迎合了当今专业音乐人的需要。主要特性有：
矩阵控制，4力度切换，每个音质的立体声波形（以前的音源都是每个音质一个MONO波形）。标准SCSI接口和数字输出（消费级和专业级）。XV5080具备32声部——128复音，即使是做复杂的交响配乐和复杂编曲也足够使用。可以发送MIDI数据到2输入。XV5080还具备其它的“姊妹般”的新的声音组织效果，但是定位却是不同。XV-88是88配重键盘的版本，它主要是为现场演出而设计的，适合现场的键盘手或钢琴手，他们肯定会爱上它的。XV5080的小弟弟是XV3080，是性价比级别的XV系列，但是绝对超值，但是……你可能要买不到了。

XV5080的扩展性？

OK！XV-5080的扩展性极其优秀。已经内置了64MB mb的标准声音采样(1152 patches!)。而且，它是混合了 JV-2080/1080/1010 等设备的音色，且带有一些JD-990音色的混雪美女。但是， 8 (!) 个插槽已经准备好给你插入采样卡，带你进入更多不同领域。所以你便有了更多的选择性。你可以内建为亚洲音色，拉丁音色，乡村音乐音色，特殊音色等等。我们所谈论的是强大而且优秀的SRJV80系列音色卡。但是——Roland 可能认为这样还是不够，于是又发展了新的SRX系列音色卡。每个卡的波形容量是 64MB！！你可以在XV5080内插有4块新卡，4块老卡（SRJV80系列）。所以总共是8个插槽。

提示你哦：你在选择卡的时候得仔细了哦，你可以先到ROLAND公司试听或购买DEMO  CD来选择。记住——asia, india, china, ireland....

第三个字节为设备ID，由于原厂设置为“10”（若十进制则为16）。若你已经改变设置，则要重新进行设置或根据你所设置改变第三个字节。

XV-5080同时还是采样回放器，能否用其亲自采样？
不能。只能导入采样。当然导入的素材就多了。XV-5080可以导入 AKAI s1000 到 S3000 格式的采样音色，当然也能够读取罗兰自己的S采样库。这些采样库在CD-ROM中才有效。这样：XV-5080便可以作为一个采样回放器了。就好象在专用的硬件采样器声音一样。
