Release notes for Superior Drummer 3.4.1

Superior Drummer 3.4.1 is now available to download using the Product Manager or from the ‘My Products’ area in your Toontrack account. Please note that version 3.4.1 is required for the support of Superior Drummer 3 products released from this point forward (Q3 2025).

CHANGES

General

  • Loading EZXs may be a bit faster now, if they are located on an SSD.

Song Track

  • In the Block menu and in the MIDI block right-click menu, the song part color of the selected block is now shown next to the Song Part submenu.

E-Drums

Settings

  • The disk type for SDXs no longer always defaults to HDD – SD3 now tries to detect whether the disk is an SSD.

BUG FIXES

General

  • At sample rate 44.1 kHz, the plug-ins (not in the standalone) now always have and report 16 samples added latency, to prevent potential latency changes during playback. Related to this, in some hosts (for example Ableton Live), looping would in version 3.4.0 cause an audio glitch.
  • Using “Select Parts” to load parts of a Drums and Mixer Preset could potentially cause a crash.
  • Toggling 16-bit mode (in the memory view in the upper right corner) when Cached mode is on will now clear the cache.
  • On Windows, the tab key did not work as expected in external windows (detached views).

Grooves Tab

  • Dragging a Groove Part of a MIDI file to a song track block would in some cases incorrectly add an opening hit to the block.

Grid Editor

  • Changing the timing of notes, for example with Nudge, and then selecting another block on the song track (without first deselecting the notes) would undo those changes.
  • Choke events are no longer shown for instruments that do not support them. Previously, expanding such an instrument (to show the articulation rows) with choke events existing for it on the track would cause a crash.
